FEMALE PLAYERS
BBMHA offers female only teams for age levels U9 and above if enough players are interested. An agreement is in place with a neighboring MHA to provide players a team if BBMHA has insufficient numbers.
What this means is that Associations we will be providing a place for every female player in Eastman to play female hockey on their terms. Whether they want to play co-ed hockey, dual roster on both a female and co-ed team or play single roster female hockey, they will get their opportunity. Here are the options for U9 through U13 female players.
- Co-ed hockey – girls will attend evaluations within their associations and play on co-ed teams only within their associations.
- Dual roster – girls will attend evaluations within their associations and play on co-ed teams as is decided by their evaluators, but also will be placed on an all-female part time team. These girls will have 2 teams to play on, one will be a full time co-ed team and the other will be a part time female team which will have 3-5 ice times per month together as an all girls’ team. These teams will be organized by Female Hockey Director to ensure that all girls who want to play on a dual roster team have a team to play on.
- Single roster female team – players will be placed on an all-female team. Teams will be organized geographically to ensure that all girls who want to play female only hockey have a team to play on. If one association has enough players to form a team on their own, they will only need to announce themselves.
The goal is to provide girls with development, ensure they are staying in the game and to build the program here in Eastman to increase our numbers at the younger age groups and maintain our numbers all the way to our regional teams.
